Error message - “This code is no longer valid”

Encountering the “This code is no longer valid” error typically occurs when attempting to add an eSIM that has previously been activated or if the QR code scan was incomplete due to a weak connection.

To verify the installation status of your eSIM, follow these steps:

  1. Open Settings on your device.
  2. Navigate to General.
  3. Select About and scroll to find the ICCID. If your eSIM is active, you’ll see the ICCID number followed by an additional digit, indicating that the eSIM line is “On” under your Cellular Plans.

It’s important to note that once an eSIM is removed, reactivating it by scanning the same QR code again is not feasible.

However, if this is your initial attempt at installing the eSIM and you encounter this error, it might be due to a poor internet connection, an active VPN, or the device reaching its limit on the number of eSIMs it can hold.

To successfully install your eSIM, please ensure the following:

  • Disable VPNs: Temporarily turn off any active VPN connections.
  • Stable Internet Connection: Confirm your internet connection is stable and strong.
  • Manage eSIMs: Uninstall any eSIMs that are no longer needed.
  • Update Device Software: Make sure your device’s software is up to date.
  • Alternative Installation Method: Consider using a different method than previously attempted for installing your eSIM.
